OK, the elk lottery is 100% different for 2011 and will require some strategy. If you want a cow for some meat, you have a much better chance for draw this year. You can buy your lottery chance on-line from now to April 30th. More to come later on my strategy. I'm ready.

My Hunting Year In Review
Well, the 2010 hunting seasons officially came to an end tonight. It's been a pretty good year although it could've been a whole lot better.
Ethan killed a big gobbler in the spring. I worked a ton of birds and never got a good shot.
In July, I went to the Daytona Beach area and bass fished one of the premier bass spots in the US catching absolutely ZERO. Mostly because....I am the worst fisherman on the planet. Also, in July the QDM convention was in Louisville and it was interesting and a lot of fun. I videoed two bucks during the month that I thought would both score near B&C and decided then to only hunt those bucks.
September and October were probably the two worst deer hunting months I've ever experienced. November however, was pretty crazy. Ethan scored on a nice 8 pointer hunting with my dad. Late in the month, I figured out why I haven't seen my two big bucks, fining them locked together dead about 100 yards from the stand. I hunted quite a bit late with some close incounters with some nice bucks but no success.
2011 starts with some coyote hunting in the next month and then on to Turkey 2011 and fingers crossed for an elk draw. Here's hoping for a productive and fun 2011 hunting season for everyone in the Bluegrass.

GLACIER GLOVE from Glacier Outdoor
I got my new Glacier Gloves in the mail this week and they are pretty awesome. I love the way they feel and the Realtree AP HD Camo pattern. After Tuesday night in the snow, I love the fact they are water proof because my hands were so miserable that I couldn't feel my release. The Patented touchrite technolody makes squeezing the trigger easy. My favorite feature is that they are long enough to fit up under the sleeve of my jacket and not let any snow or water slip in.
Hunters don’t just rely on their instincts; they also rely on their gear. Glacier Outdoor, a Nevada-based outdoor outlet, understands how important gear is to a hunter because the owners grew up perfecting the art of hunting. Everything they produce is crafted by their experiences, understanding, and love of outdoor adventure.
Their most recent hunting glove, the Aleutian Hunting Glove, is no different. In fact, it’s a culmination of what they’ve learned about hunting gear over the years. The glove provides unparalleled dexterity and warmth, and is in Realtree AP HD, an attribute that allows its owner to blend in with increased efficiency. It’s also waterproof and contains both a neoprene and fleece lining.
Hunters rely on their gear, and the Aleutian Hunting Glove won’t let them down.

Deer 2010-11 Winding Down..........
Only 1 more week of Deer Season 2010-11. I still have a couple of big boys out there. I have to give it at least 2 more shots. I'm going to try to hunt the snow this week. Good luck to everybody who gets out. Crunch time. After this week, it's time to shoot some yotes and look forward to spring turkey 2011.

Big Boys Still Out There
Got out tonight for the first time in a long while. Should have gotten a shot at a doe while I was hunting on the ground. When she went behind the tree and gave me a chance to draw she was inside 15 feet. Not yards, feet. Had a really big 9 that got within 50 but no closer. Story of my season.
