Time to be thinking about quota hunts.

You have to call in your Kentucky quota hunt applications during the month of September. Some of these areas offer a really good opportunity to take a nice buck or put some meat in the freezer. Most areas have used a 15 inch rule on bucks for the last 3 to 7 years in some cases. I hunted Green River WMA about four years ago and really liked the area. It was 85 to 90 degrees both days on November 3rd and 4th of that year so the hunting was tough. Ballard County is a great area. If you're drawn there, you have a real shot at a horse. Pennyrile had a huge non-typical taken from it last year.

To apply for
quota hunts, call:
1-877-598-2401
During the month of September
only, hunters may call toll-free to
apply for deer, pheasant, rabbit,
quail & waterfowl Quota Hunts.
Applications for all five types of
quota hunts can be made at the
same time. Hunters should tell the
operator they want to apply for a
Kentucky quota hunt when calling.
